I have one guiding principle:
“Don’t make it worse.”
Sounds ridiculous, right? This seems like therapy 101.
My life experiences led me to understand that as I reached out for help in my early years – my therapy experiences left me feeling invalidated. I wasn’t heard and I wasn’t believed.
I knew then, that I didn’t want anyone else to feel worse after seeking help. I needed to offer a framework to validate people’s experiences and be the ears, voice, and help they needed. I knew that the first step with my clients and clients working with my team was always going to be: “Don’t make it worse.”
In my 12 years as a therapist, I’ve learned that healing starts with making a genuine connection with a person who can listen and hear another human being in their struggle; to build trust and offer a safe space and the right tools to help you heal.
I consider it an honour to be invited into people’s lives, and I’d consider it a privilege to be a support as you work towards a more whole and fulfilling future.
